With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, Prof. Eicke R. Weber has been a transformative figure in the fields of solar energy and semiconductor physics, significantly advancing sustainable technologies and renewable energy policies worldwide.

Prof. Weber's contributions extend beyond academia into global energy policy and industry. He was instrumental in founding the Global Alliance for Solar Energy Research Institutes, uniting leading solar research institutions from the USA, Japan, and Germany to promote PV technologies on a terawatt scale.

In recognition of his lifelong commitment to renewable energy, Prof. Weber received the SOLAR FUTURE. TODAY Visionary Influencers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. He has also been honored with numerous awards, including the Humboldt Research Award, the Federal Cross of Merit of Germany, and the Einstein Award from Solar World.
