Leila Ahmadi is a Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada, where she works at the intersection of clean energy, sustainability, and advanced material reuse.

With a background in mechanical engineering and industrial ecology, her research focuses on the environmental and economic assessment of second-life applications for electric vehicle batteries, clean energy storage systems, and circular economy strategies.
Her expertise in lifecycle assessment and battery repurposing directly supports climate-smart innovation in waste and recycling technologies—core themes of WARE-2026.
Dr. Ahmadi’s contributions have informed national efforts in sustainable resource use, energy transition, and low-carbon innovation.
