Prof. Paul Insel to Deliver Plenary Lecture on Novel GPCRs in Cancer Therapeutics.

We are excited to announce Prof. Paul A. Insel, Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), as a Plenary Speaker at InnoPharm-2025.
With a career dedicated to advancing our understanding of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), Prof. Insel is internationally recognized as a leading authority in receptor pharmacology. His contributions have significantly influenced modern drug discovery, particularly in how GPCRs are targeted for therapeutic interventions across a wide range of diseases.
At InnoPharm-2025, Prof. Insel will present his talk titled: “GPCRomics: Identifying Endogenous ‘New’ GPCRs as Novel Therapeutic Targets for Cancers”
This session will introduce the emerging field of GPCRomics an innovative approach to uncovering underexplored, endogenous GPCRs that may serve as breakthrough targets in cancer treatment. By re-evaluating receptor expression patterns and functions in the context of oncology, Prof. Insel’s talk will open new directions for both basic research and clinical translation.
Why It Matters:
GPCRs represent the largest and most diverse family of druggable proteins, yet a significant portion of them remains uncharacterized or “orphaned,” especially in the field of oncology. Prof. Insel’s insights will highlight how systematically mapping and characterizing these receptors-through GPCRomics can expand the therapeutic landscape and drive innovation in targeted cancer therapies.
This talk is particularly relevant for pharmaceutical scientists, oncologists, and translational researchers seeking to accelerate target discovery and develop next-generation therapeutics rooted in receptor biology.
